Close your eyes and simply be
Be within the silence surrounding you
Feel the essence of yourself
The vibration of your very being
The energy that beats within your heart
Feel the blood pulsating in the vein and see its journey
As the rhythm of the path you walk each day
Music lives as a part of you
So how can music not affect you in some way?
All my life, music is and has been my friend, my muse and mentor, my parents and sage. I am not alone when the music starts in the room. Each person has their song, the moment seals with an emotion and feeling through the world.
I have traveled to many parts of the world and music, like the golden rule is a common thread between all men. Music saves society and people. Expressions of the soul’s delights and imagination, that speaks out to be heard if only for that one moment. Good or bad, music refines and defines society, holding hope and faith within the notes and tune.
Each genre of music holds the key of what the society is all about and the history is made with the notes and tones that the current heartthrob musician is singing about.
The common theme of love and society gone wrong and how can we live within this. Music tells a story even in the classics. It tells the tale of the past, the present and the future… I will be there. I am here. She was here for me.
Many say that poetry is the language of the heart and music may be the reason for the beating of the heart… to move the soul and the feet into action. Humans are all about forward movement, yet they hold on tight with the favorite tunes and the emotions attached to it. It reflects that moment; triggers them back to the time of peace or misery and show how much or not they have progress on this human experiment called life.
For me, I have a soundtrack of my life and can tell you a story about each song on that soundtrack with a smile on my face. The power of music has saved me on too many times. Calling back to this plane, giving one of my missions in this life to give thanks for that. I have donated my time and energy to helping and supporting musicians in some form; Promotions and word of mouth for example. These days it is more attending live music and always standing at the end, regardless of how good or bad it is… they are living their dream on that stage. Who am I to judge them? They are living their dreams and I am here to witness and support that dream as long as it lives within their beating hearts. As they do, they help heal the wounds of themselves along with humanity. Music has smoothed the wounds of 911, earthquakes, starvation, AIDS and the list continues. Can you name another group that does as much to support humanity as music does?
So I ask… to close your eyes and feel the beating vibration of your heart, if only for a moment. Tell me…music has no meaning or affect on you.
